After receiving the 2024 Africa Forty under 40 Award in the Home & Decor Category at the ceremony in Nairobi, Kenya on March 30, 2024, Basil David Anthony found himself grappling with a sense of unfulfillment despite his prestigious accomplishment. He came to the realization that his achievements held little meaning if he couldn’t make a significant impact by empowering the next generation of African entrepreneurs. Motivated by this insight, he embarked on a mission to establish a platform that would provide young entrepreneurs with access to capital, funding opportunities for starting or scaling their businesses, and invaluable mentorship to guide them on their entrepreneurial journey.

He firmly believes that we are living in an era ripe with unprecedented opportunities where innovation and entrepreneurship can dismantle barriers and pave new paths to success. Thus, the Basil David Anthony Foundation was conceived, with “Africa’s Next Young Millionaire” emerging as its inaugural passion project.
